About me

CorpBlawg is a web log on corporate blogging (talk about meta!) that is maintained by Cornelius Puschmann. Cornelius is a doctoral candidate and lecturer at the Department of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Düsseldorf, GermanyCornelius Puschmann. His research focuses on corporate blogs as a new genre of writing (though blogging is more than just text production) and on the specific challenges associated with communicating on the Net. He believes that blogs can be used productively both to engage in a dialog with external stakeholders and to improve the flow of information inside an organization. In order to qualitatively analyze the language of corporate blogs, a textual database (or corpus) specifically for English-language company blogs has been assembled. As of September 2007, the database indexed a total of slightly under six million words from 137 sources.

His other (less nerdy) interests include social networking, new trends in academic publishing, traveling, food & drink and music.
